Biography
Ellen is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Her research examines disparities in the U.S. criminal and juvenile justice systems. She focuses on estimating the size and sources of disparity in justice processing as well as measuring the impacts of justice reform. In Delaware, she has contributed to quantitative studies of disparities in the State's criminal justice system for the Access to Justice Commission and Administrative Office of the Courts. Ellen holds a joint Ph.D. in political science and criminology from the University of Pennsylvania and B.A. in political science from Swarthmore College.
