The first episode of Prof. Monica Sanders’ podcast has launched. She co-hosts the podcast with Chauncia Willis and I-DIEM Co-Founder Curtis Brown. Every episode covers topics related to equity and inclusion in disasters and climate change. Guests are experts in the practice, such as Dr. Dovil as well as government officials, attorneys, emergency managers and other thought leaders.
In this episode, Dr. Michelle Dovil of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University joins co-hosts Monica Sanders, Director of the Bill Anderson Fund (William Averette Anderson Fund for Hazard Mitigation Education and Research) and Chauncia Willis, Co-founder and CEO of I-DIEM (Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management). Together they discuss the disproportionate effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on communities of color, particularly in the United States and the confluence of COVID-19 and hurricane season.
