    Biography

    ​Kate Kafonek is a Ph.D. candidate in Criminology. Her dissertation, presently titled, "The new ‘sex ed’: Exploring how and what high school students learn about sex and relationships", seeks to understand unique sources of information and effective dialogue around sex-related topics among Generation Z individuals.  Other research areas include victimology, gender-based violence, and sexual/intimate partner violence prevention and related social movements. Her co-authored work has been published in Violence Against Women, Family Relations, and Feminist Criminology.
