Biography
Krishanna J. Prince is a doctoral student in Sociology in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. Krishanna received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2018 and her Master of Education in Community Development and Action from Vanderbilt University in 2020. Her research interests include the intersections of race/ethnicity, inequality and policing disparities. She is also interested in examining historical and contemporary racism throughout American society with a particular focus on the lived experiences of Black Americans. Krishanna has engaged in various research projects exploring topics such as the relationship between race/ethnicity and civilian resistance in policing encounters, the petitioning of free and enslaved Blacks in antebellum Delaware and Black students' experiences of race-related trauma in the U.S. public education system. Krishanna was an Equal Justice Fellow and recipient of the University Graduate Scholar Award during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic school years.
