Biography
Clara Mey is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of Delaware. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace University outside of Cleveland, Ohio, majoring in both sociology and philosophy. Clara's research interests include media, social problems and sociological theory. Her undergraduate thesis, titled “An Examination of Panoptic Dynamics on the Internet," evaluated the effectiveness of Foucault's theory of Panopticism and Goffman's dramaturgy to explain online interactions and behavior. Clara is currently researching the phenomenon of “stealthing," from its origins to its current constructions. In her spare time Clara enjoys true crime podcasts and snuggling with her dog.
